GKH Recruitment require a HGV 1 driver for our client in Wednesbury.

Our client is looking for an agency driver who is willing to be flexible with their start time. Starting from anytime between 15.00pm-19.00pm your day usually starts with one or two local deliveries before coming back to the depot to reload. You will then be sent to slightly further afield to usually Manchester, Nottingham or Aylesbury. Shifts are no longer than 10 and half hours. The client carries out the same set runs every Monday to Friday so over time you will pick up the runs fairly easily. We can cater for both full time applicants and part time applicants who are only looking for 2-3 shifts a week.

Duties include transporting steel loads between steel stockholders, ensuring that all products are delivered before the deadlines given. There is no roping and sheeting involved as the loads are transported on the back of a curtain side vehicle, though you will be expected to be able to strap the load in a safe manner. You will be provided with a hard hat, gloves and safety goggles which you will be expected to wear in and around the sites.

Rate of Pay

PAYE – £19.49 per hour inclusive of holiday pay

Due to restrictions within our insurance policy applicants must have held their LGV licence for a minimum of 2 years with no more than 6 endorsement points. Also, we cannot accept applicant with DD, DR or IN convictions.

A valid Driver Qualification Card (CPC) is also essential to this role.
